Ei, ei, min Ven, saa tidlig oppe?
I Skoven alt ved første Gry?
Trods Kulden, under Granetoppe,
Holdt Morgenandagt i det Fri?
Haard Bækken ham imøde stirrer;
Hvi gaaer han vel paa bare Been?
Hvad bander han, mens Læben dirrer,
Og løber arrig over Sneen?

Ak, tænk! fra varme Puder reven,
Hvor ganske andet vented ham,
Hvis ikke Frakken var ham bleven,
Hvad for en Skjændsel da og Skam!
Hin skjælmske Gud har ham bedraget,
