Du kan Ham ikke glemme -
Han var din Søn — din Ven!
Og tidt hans kjære Stemme
I Ensomheden hjemme
Du troer at høre end;

Ak! saae vort Blik, det svage,
I Fremtids dunkle Spor -
Maaske var vild din Klage,
Maaske du ej tilbage
Ham ønsked meer paa Jord,

Nu frigjort hisset lever
Hans unge skyldfri Sjæl,
Mod Salighed han svæver,
Og selv i Himlen hæver
Hans Bøn sig for dit Vel!
