হাতের কাছে ছিল হাতেমতাই
চূড়োয় বসিয়েছি তাকে
দুহাত জোড় করে বলেছি ‘প্রভু
দিয়েছি খত দেখো নাকে।
এবার যদি চাও গলাও দেব
দেখি না বরাতে যা থাকে -
আমার বাঁচামরা তোমারই হাতে
স্মরণে রেখো বান্দাকে!'

ডুমুরপাতা আজও কোমরে ঝোলে
লজ্জা বাকি আছে কিছু
এটাই লজ্জার। এখনও মজ্জার
ভিতরে এত আগুপিছু!
এবার সব খুলে চরণমূলে
ঝাঁপাব ডাঁই করা পাঁকে
এবং মিলে যাব যেমন সহজেই
চৈত্র মেশে বৈশাখে।

Shankha Ghosh (Bengali: শঙ্খ ঘোষ) is a Bengali Indian poet and critic. Ghosh was born on February 6, 1932 at Chandpur of what is now Bangladesh. Shankha Ghosh is regarded a leading authority on Rabindranath in addition to being one of the most prolific writers in Bengali. Life He got his undergraduate degree in Arts in Bengali language from the Presidency College, Kolkata in 1951 and subsequently his Master's degree from the University of Calcutta.
