Der hvisked til Dig gjennem Busk og Siv
Et Aandepust fra Verdner, skjulte, fjerne;
Naturens Blomsterbørn Du pleied gjerne:
Du elsked deres stille Drømmeliv.

Naar ei Naturens Haand dem kunde værne,
Men Blomst kun stod paa Ruden, kold og stiv,
Du ønsked Vaarens Børn et Atterbliv:
De titted dog saa fromt mod Livets Stjerne.

Og Blomsten, som Du elsked, aldrig døde,
Og den, Du kjerligt pleied, aldrig segned:
Med Livets friske Farver Du dem tegned.

End lifligt dine Ungdomsroser gløde;
Alt fire Tiaar staaer i Klæder hvide
Din Ungdomslillie fromt ved Korsets Side.
